SUMMER HIRING BEGINS IN MARCH!

SCHOOL YEAR HIRING BEGINS IN JULY!

Responsible for supervision of and leading activities for participants in McKinleyville Union School District’s Expanded Learning Program after school, and during intersession break camps such as President's Week, Spring Break, and Summer Break. 

Work assignments and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Direct supervision of participants;
  • Planning and implementation of program activities (in alignment with the 21st CCLC grant goals)
  • Enforcement of all program policies and requirements (as outlined in the 21st CLCC grant)
  • CACFP Meal Count
  • Other duties as required or assigned by the Program Directors or Site Coordinators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current first aid/CPR certification (upon employment)
  • Current negative TB test (upon employment)
  • Ability to obtain current fingerprint identification (upon employment)
  • Knowledge, training, and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: physical education, recreation, elementary education, art, theater, social work, environmental education, early education.
  • Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.
  • After-School Leader Position: Have an AA degree OR pass the HCOE Paraprofessional Exam
  • Recreation Leader Position: Pass the HCOE Paraprofessional Exam and have a Work Permit.

After-School Leader Wage (must be older than 18 to apply):  $19.06/hr 

Recreation Leader Wage (may be 16-18 years of age to apply):  $16.73/hr

HOURS: Shifts for the school year are Monday through Friday, 19.25-24 hours per week.  Site specific hours are as follows:

    Dow's Prairie:

    • Monday/Minimum Days: 12:45pm-6:15pm
    • Tuesday-Friday: 1:45pm-6:15pm

    Morris:

    • Monday/Minimum Days: 1:30pm-6:15pm
    • Tuesday-Friday: 3:00pm-6:00pm

    BREAK CAMPS

    (President’s Week, Spring Break, and Summer Break)

    Hours: Summer shifts are Monday through Friday up to 40 hours per week

    • Shifts available during breaks vary between the hours of 7:15am- 4:45pm
    • Part-time and full-time shifts available

     

    *ELP Summer Camp 2025*

    June 23rd - August 15th (no camp July 4th)

    Training days June 17th and 18th, time tbd

    *Additional Meeting/Training times vary*
