SUBJECT:  NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR MEASURE B MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT

 

McKinleyville, CA –

 

In 2023 McKinleyville property owners approved extending the Measure B Assessment, an increased Measure B Maintenance Assessment District (the “District”) Maximum Assessment Rate, and an Assessment Range Formula. The District provides a local funding source for the McKinleyville Community Services District (the “CSD”) community parks, open space, recreational facilities, and building maintenance. On April 1, 2026 the Board of Directors for the CSD approved Resolution 2026-12, titled:

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MCKINLEYVILLE COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO LEVY AND COLLECT ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS FOR THE MEASURE B MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027; AND SETTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THESE MATTERS

 

The Fiscal Year 2026/2027 estimated District budget is $773,729, which is to be collected from properties within the District. This will fund a portion of the CSD’s anticipated $1,041,486 annual budget for the operation, maintenance, and construction of parks, open space, trails, activity centers, and other improvements (including incidental expenses for the assessment and any debt issued to fund capital improvements). The CSD will use other funding sources to pay for the general benefit portion of the budget. A more detailed description of the proposed improvements, budget and assessment can be found in the District’s Engineer’s Report, which is on file with the CSD and available for public inspection.

 

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the Board of Directors of the CSD will hold a public hearing on the assessment at the following telephonic and electronic locations:
